Why could be wrong with my email account?

I have been unable to set up my O2 LG Renoir phone to access my yahoo mailbox. Using the pop3 setting I get "login failed" as an error message. When I use the Yahoo mobile set up instructions and imap4 it still does not work, it just reboots my phone after trying to sync. I have been able to access test hot mail and yahoo accounts I have created, I just cant access my pre exisiting Yahoo mail account.

Why could be wrong with my email account?
