How do I go about setting up a email account for my daughter?

I have been thinking about getting her an account but I just want to make sure she is safe as well.

How do I go about setting up a email account for my daughter?
If your daughter is under the age of thirteen then you will need to open a family account. It requires that you submit a credit card for verify you are a parent or legal guardian.

Even though they state the card won't be charged anything there are some people that have been charged a a dollar.

Here is the link for the Yahoo! Family Account.

If your daughter is over the age of thirteen then you can open an account just as you did. Sign out of your account then go back and sign back in as a new user. It will give you the registration form to fill out.

You should always make sure that you have her password. That way you will be able to check what sites she is going to.
Reply:Basically you'd go about setting the account up for her in the same way as you did for yourself , if you're looking at yahoomail or livemail (aka hotmail) etc. You can also do it in Outlook if your ISP allows multiple mail a/cs. For this bit, you'll probably have to log on to your ISPs website and follow the links for setting up a new account and then configure outlook accordingly, again this is basically the same procedure that you would have used for your own account.

As for making sure she's safe then it's a case of using common sense and making sure she knows what is what... you can also purchase programs that will act as censors and filter her mail to ensure nothing untoward gets to her.
Reply:Exactly the same way you would set up any other account. It's not like there are "special" accounts for children.
