My email account has dropped or lost a large portion of my inbox messages. How do I retreive them?

The inbox shows the last week or so of messages, but previous messages that I had keep for various reasons in my inbox are gone. I need to get them back. Your help is appreciated

Hmm interesting, if you are not able to see them for some reason try clicking on the 'view all messages' tab, above the delete and spam buttons once in your yahoo inbox to see if that retrieves them. it's the only thing I can think of, hope this helps!
