Will your mail go back to the sender if you have deleted an email account?

If you have deleted an email account will mail still go through to it?
i don't think so but i am only like 90% sure
Reply:yes the other person will get whats called mailer daemon usually saying user does not exist.
Reply:it should bounce back to the sender as undeliverable.......
