If your ex-husband use your identity to create an email account, is that illegal?

A friend of mine ex-husband did that to her and even set up email accounts on yahoo and Craig's List. What does the law says about this type of thing.

The law says that identity theft is a bad thing.
Reply:I'm not sure, but I can relate. My parents recently got divorced and my mother put my dad into dept by opening all of these credit card accounts in his name. I don't think it's really illegal as much in your situation because he didn't really cause anything legal issues, as far as I know.

Reply:I do not think so .... WHat would the charges be? Many individuals use aliases etc. Perhaps if he used her bank account illegally to pay for them but even porn sites are not illegal on the internet.
