How do I close my AOL email account?

I got a AOL email account when I signed up for AIM but I do not need the email account so I wish to close my email account but keep my AIM messenger service. BY THE WAY, I DO NOT PAY FOR AOL. JUST SO YOU KNOW.

How do I close my AOL email account?
--- they go hand-in-hand just like yahoo email and YIM. I don't think there is a way to close you aol email and still use AIM. Why do you need to? Just don't acces it and pretned it is closed.
