I received an email stating that Yahoo is deleting email accounts because there are too many unused accounts. I received the email concerning the account I use every day! It says if I don't respond to the email giving them my email address, password, country I reside in, etc, my email account will be deleted. Is this really true?
I received an email today saying that Yahoo will delete my email account if I don't respond with my password!?
Scam. Yahoo! would never request personal information in an unsolicited email.

Report Abuse Reply:It is a SCAM. It has been going on for years. Do not respond. Delete message. block person who sent it and report to yahoo. But all in all none of this will stop the person as they will move to a different addy and keep doing it. Never give away your passwords by e-mail. Scan your system for spyware etc....
Reply:Nope....its a classic case of Phishing...and one to be avoided....Delete any mail that ever asks for your password etc, and forward it to the company that it 'supposedly' came from, so they can track this crap.
Reply:Yahoo! says in their guidelines that they will never ask for your password in correspondence. If anyone asks for your password it is a scam.
Reply:I would think this is sometime of scam and would try and report it threw yahoo.
