I can't believe this...all my thousands of emails, files everything is GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beware everyone, why risk this ever happening to you...how can I retreive them? Can I sue Yahoo? I need the info....who took them or what happened?

In the US, company computers are company property and you have virtually no right to privacy on them. After all, everything on them is supposed to be company property. The company even has the right to see anything encrypted. Talk to a lawyer for the legal specifics.





Why does she have to be a manager or supervisor to be a company snoop? It may in fact be in her job description to look at all the email accounts. It may also be something that was done in error. Ask a supervisor about it. You could simply be replacing a known enemy with an unknown one.





If she does indeed have administrative access to the email accounts, then there is nothing you can do to prevent her from looking at the email. Also, it isn't really hacking. I have administrative and root access on every computer in my house. That doesn't make me a hacker or even a snoop. It does make me dangerous to my own computers should I make a mistake with administrative privileges. Depending on the system where your email is stored, she may not even have administrative access. It may only be a higher level of read access than you have.





Hacking requires more skills that she probably has. So there is probably a reason she has access even if it is a mistake.

You can have 2 Yahoo ID's...


Sign in to Yahoo Mail, Click on Options on the top right.


Under the Mail Management header, Click on Mail Addresses.


Click on Get Started link under Extra Email Address header....choose whatever address/username you want and click on Check availabilty. If its available, you鈥檒l be taken to an Image verification and then you will have another email address to your Yahoo Id.

My fried and I are having a debate about the below:


If you know somebody's email password and access their account on the internet, is there anyway that the actual owner of the account can check which machines have accessed their account (ie by recording the IP address)? I do not think this is possible but my friend thinks it is possible and relatively easy to do. Who is right?

I don't think so. It probably depends on the type of email though. If you use the email service provided by your isp, I'm sure they keep logs of who connects to their news server. I doubt they would ever hand over the logs to anyone though.

1. Set up a Hotmail account in US and and a second email account with a non-U.S. provider. (eg. Rediff.com or IndiaTimes.com)


2. Send messages between the two email accounts which might be interesting to the email snooper or NSA who may be monitoring your email.


3. In each message, include a unique URL to a Web server (link to the dummy file on geocities.com containing the tracking code) that you have access to its server logs. This URL should only be known by you and not linked to from any other Web page. The text of the message should encourage an NSA monitor or email snooper to visit the URL.


4. If the server log file ever shows this URL being accessed, then you know that you are being snooped on. The IP address of the access can also provide clues about who is doing the snooping.


by the way, you can also track a computer by its domain name, IP addresss, and the computer host name.

Examples of host names: www.cnn.com, mail.people.com, blahblah.sbcglobal.net and so on. if you know the IP, you can find out its ISP.
Reply:Well if your friend has the talents of a hacker you can probably see if another IP address was used to get into your mail. It still doesn't prove much. For instance if you accessed your email from another computer than your own...it is only a computer address, not a personal address.

Why cant I log into my email account?

I've been trying for 4 days to log into my yahoo account and it tells me that my ID and password are wrong. I have used the same ID for over 5 years and have not changed anything! I 've tried calling Yahoo with no luck. I had to create a new ID and password to ask this question. Can anyone help with this, or know how I can contact Yahoo?

That sounds like your account may have been either hacked or deleted. In case of a hacked account send a mail describing your problem to account-security-help@cc.yahoo-inc.com. If this doesn't help, call Yahoo: 1-408-349-1572, explain to a customer service person what happened. They will ask you to do certain things and then they compare your original info with the changed info.

How can I delete an AOL Email account?

I havent downloaded AOL or anything but I have an email account that I want to delete. I cant seem to find anything about deleting them except for calling AOL or writing them a letter. Is there any easier way?

I'm pretty sure that if you still have the master screename for that account, and you know the password, you could still delete it that way (by logging on under guest). If not, than I would try writing them like you said, but you would need the password.

Reply:If you have an AOL email account, it will be pretty hard to figure out how to cancel it, try going to the Help section in the e-mail


or you mind as well call AOL, do delete it off From the AOL system..
